Anyone an expert on Majorca?

Does anybody know if the Palma Nova / Magaluf area of Majorca would be COMPLETELY dead right now, or just quiet. Also, just in case the weather is pants, can anybody recommend an Hotel in this region that has an indoor pool?

Just got back yesterday from Majorca and I lived there until a few months back

Palma Nova is the most "year round" tourist town on the island. Even so, its pretty much dead right now, 90% of bars and shops are closed. The season starts at Easter. As for Magaluf and Santa Ponsa, forget it, they are totally closed.

If you want Majorca before Easter, the only tourist destination open is Palma.

The temperatures are quite pleasant, very sunny. In the sun is quite warm but out of the sun you need a jacket and the nights are chilly, definate coat weather.

As for swimming outside, its far too cold. I am 99% sure that there is no hotel in Palma Nova or Magaluf with an indoor pool.

For warm weather at this time of year, you would be better of in the Canaries.

Perfect timing winter- everyone escping the cold! I'm going to Malia next week for the same reason!

it will be open but quiet
a lot of resorts in majorca do close for the winter but around that area they stay open

it will be quiet this time of year but if you do go the torrenova marina hotel and the santa lucia are nice and they are in palma nova

Hi, weather in Mallorca has been lovely lately, the odd windy day but no rain, mainly sunny.
Not many hotels open at mo but several have indoor pools-eg Hotel Guadalupe, which usually opens in March.
Check out the link below for more info.
A lot of bars etc are closed until March then things should liven up!

no i have been to cala st vincente though. that was really nice

I've heard its getting quite busy at this time of year
