I have a dell inspiron 1200 notebook and want to take it to france, what do I do?

Most likely it will work on the European 240V/50Hz cycle. You need to read what your adaptor (the box on the cord that plugs into the wall) says. if it has 240V or 250V written on it, it will work in Europe. All you need is a cheap little plug adapter that will allow it to fit into a French socket. You can usually get these at Walmart or Target without much of a problem.

pack it in with your luggage...

Carry it with you, I guess ... what else?

Oh, one thing, don't pack it with your luggage. It will be damaged, take it in your carry-on.

You may need to get a power adapter since France uses a different electrical standard than that of the US.

Carry it on with you on the plane.

Get a converter and french plug adapter to convert and fit your laptop plug.

Get a movie for the long flight. (at least 7 hours from chicago)

Carry with you as hand luggage. You want it intact, don't you?

get a plug adapter it will work fine that is all i do when i go to France

Mail it before you go!!
