Politics based on religion is not the answer to peace. It will divide any country in the world.?

Instead it should be equality. How?? Education??? Economy?? Respect for one another?? Mutual understanding?? Revamp of the constitution??

We pride ourselves on being the first democracy in the Middle east, but it won't be a true democracy until we start electing our leaders according to their abilty to govern regarless of religion.

Yep, there should be a separation of Religion and state. Religious people need to leave politics to the politicians and only give advice to the people who seek it from them, they can't force everyone else to live according to their standards.

You're going to lock horns (pardon the intentional pun) trying to get that notion agreed upon by the religious... How can it be based upon equality when most religions, despite any attempts at logic, teach certain groups (and an entire gender) are inferior solely because they SAY so...? How do you teach the concept of respect, tolerance, etc... when "the one true faith ____" states otherwise...? The faith of the believers CREATES more discord and strife than any amount of logic can dispel... sadly...
