1) What is the root cause for Lebanon to be as it is today??

2) Who is the cause of all this??

3) How is she gonna overcome this??

4) How can the ordinary people of Lebanon play a major role in bringing her back to her glorious years??

Like it or not , Israel is a reality & nothing is going to change that now . I agree with Webby to a point but believe that the dye was cast at the end of the first world war when Britain renegged on the agreement with the Arab nations & virtually set the stage for ongoing intertribal conflicts among the arab nations & the start of the push by the zionists for their own plot of land..

Until the ongoing issue of the Palestinian refugees is addressed nothing will change. Lebanon cannot be expected to manage the problem on her own & Israel should be forced to accept responsibility for resettlement , with the backing of the West.

Lebanon has shouldered the burden of this situation with little assistance ...this has to stop ! Let those who forced this situation on her assist with the economic cost going forward until there is a long term solution .

Just my opinion...

1. wars, unemployment, high poverty, defenseless army, government lacks money, corrupted government, bombing. Bad education and health care systems. Bad foreign relations with neighboring countries. Very low Salaries.

2. No wars, be more democratic, decrease unemployment, stop hunger and misery. Improve education and health care systems. Increase salaries. Stop the bombing. Increase foreign relations.

3. only if those people are behind the corrupted government. Also the people can be wise in who they elect for. Also they can go on strikes and declare their emotions. But they all have to agree on one thing, because if their feelings are divided among groups in a nation, then i am afraid Lebanon would never seek peace.

Israel is the root cause of all the unrest in the arab world.

Oh no, I have to agree with jungle beast up there.

it's a loooong story Mad cow, I'll try and make it short.

I believe that it all started in the late 40's. when a small country called Palestine was under the british mandate.

To make a long story short, the jews were looking for a land to call their own, and the british told them: " yes, why not? we won't give you a piece of our precious England, but you can have a little bit of Palestine, maybe no one will notice."

Et voila!! instant disaster!! there come these bitter twisted people emerging from the holocaust and who decided that the only way to not be a victim is by becoming a perpetrator.
to occupy a land you have to kick its inhabitants out, so we started shuffling these poor Palestinian refugies around the Arab countries, until they settled in little weak Lebanon.

50 years later, these people were still living living in tents and camps and still " annoying" the west's beloved Jews.

So, the U.S. ( precisely Kissinger the then foreign affair minister ( who incidently once wrote an article to Bill Clinton, explaining to him that the only way America can keep bossing the world around is by increasing membership in the UN from 175 to 250, yup: divide and conquer) thought that to get the palestinians off the jews back, we get them busy in Lebanon, start a civil war, divide the country and give some of it to the Palestinians to shut them up.

Lebanon is a tiny country, where 17 different religions are trying to co-exist so it wasn't that hard to start a civil war and the rest is history.

the story is not settled yet, and I personally see no solution: we can't throw the Israelis in the sea and we can't live with them.

Edit: Hahaha @ power of silence. Now I don't like Ja3ja3 and I hate having to defend him but he masterminded the killing of Hariri so he would be set free???

I agree that isreal is the root for these problems today but it was almost over in lebanon until the assassination of the previous prime minister rafic al hariri which strated the disaster
the real disaster is when ja3ja3 was set free all the troubles started over again
remember everything he is the only one who benifit from the assasination to be free again and he is the cause of all troubles now after he killed everyone he could before he wants to continue it now
