Going to magic Mountain on Satuday, will they close the park if it rains?

I am driving out to LA from Phoenix this weekend with friends to go to Magic Mountain, it is the only weekend we all could get off work, how bad is the weather right now? If it says rain for Sat, will it most likely only rain part of the time in CA? How bad does it have to be before they close the park? Also how busy does the park get this time of year?

I've been to Magic Mountain when it was raining. They won't close the park, but depending on how strong the winds are, they will close certain rides. When I went, they closed Superman the Escape, probably because going 100 mph into rain and high wind presents a health risk (or maybe the LIM's on the ride don't work wet). I wouldn't worry about too much. Socal rain is generally very mild. Also, the park probably would not be very busy, since it's not a holiday season.

I don't think so...

Not the park, but most rides.....i wouldnt waste the money

They won't close and as long as it's not pouring, they will have most rides open. This time of year it won't be too busy, if it rains you will prb be the only people there.

If you are lucky they will close the park (however I doubt it). I went to Magic Mountain a few months ago (I had not been in years). The place was so dirty and ghetto. Maybe the rain will wash some of the dirt and trash away!

nah they usually keep it open..

This is from the Magic Mountain website

What happens if it rains?
The park contains all types of activities, many of which are not dependent upon good weather, including indoor shows, games and arcades. While some rides and shows may close due to rain or wind, they are opened as soon as the weather clears. Refunds and rainchecks are not offered.

As of right now the forecast is 30% chance of rain on Saturday, so don't count on it raining, but bring a jacket because it will not be warm, max 60F.

As many others have said here, they may not have some rides open if it is windy and rainy, but the park will probably be open.

They won't be closed. Rainy days are the best days to go to amusement parks because no one else is there!

Only if it is pouring!! Then for a short time. Take a rain jacket so you won't be all wet all day. Then you can hit ALL the rides! I have been there a good 30 times. Use to live about 11/2 away.
