I need decent hotel to stay for a day in mumbai ( closer to airport preferably)?

I need suggestion on a decent hotel to stay for a day in mumbai (closer to airport preferably) for a day in mumbai and also some decent hotel recommendation in Pune for a day.
Budget: 1000-2000Rs.

unfortnately indian govt.never understood the potential of international travellers/visitors.

it is almost impossible to find a decent hotel in rs.1000-2000
range.

yes you will find 3-4-5 star hotels well compared to many international hotels but what they charge can be anything in the range of usd 250-1200 per night.

fyi-even in places like nhom penh in combodia or pattaya
in thailand you can get a ver decent 3 star hotel for apx.usd30
but in india it is totally impossible.

in pune you can try - ginger hotel - which is owned by the tata group and it should fit into your price range.

you may also try - hotel raviraj - off bhandarkar road which is very decent and reasonably priced hote l.(hotelraviraj@yahoo.com)

In Mumbai there are a number of budget hotels near the airport like
Bawa international (022) 26113636 tariff about 8000 rs per night
Bawa Continental (022- 26182563) tariff 1700 to 2500 per nights

another hotel is Hotel airline (022-26184220 / 26183575 )Tariff 2500 to 3000

Hotel Atithi (022-26116124-25) tariff 3000 to 4000

but ask for a discount depending on the occupancy you could get a 10 to 45% discount with complimentary breakfast and airport transfers

you see Mumbai is a metro, the tariff here will be high for a decent hotel

Hotel Panchratna (020-26059988) Rs 2500 onwards
Hotel Swan Inn (020-26810555) tariff Rs 1600 to 2000
Hotel Gulmohar (020-26122773) tariff 800 to 1500

Here again it depends on the occupancy level on the day you plan to visit and also how well you negotiate

options r many i can say 5* hotels charges about 10 k per day where as u can get economy hotels in ur budget there are many in Marol very near to Int'l Airport
