San Diego to Munich?

I was thinking about moving from California to Munich, but I have heard that some German people do not take kindly to immigrants,is there any truth in this?Im not white either and I have heard that some dont take kind to minorities either.Id like to know if I should worry about these things before I move or visit.

Both of you are helpful, goo thing im not middle eastern,im actually Mexican/Spanish,but I dont speak Spanish.I would try to speak German,I think Ill be fine.

As in every country on this planet there are some stupid people unfortunately Germany is no exception to that...
I live in Germany and I have lived in Caifornia to my opinion racism is stronger in the US than in Germany but this is my personal opinion.
If you hear about racist incidents in Germany most of them happen in former Eastern Germany so in Munich which is former West Germany you will be fine.
As I live in Bavaria of which Munich is capital city if you need more Information don't hesitate to contact me through my profile here.

They don't exactly like the people from the Mideast they don't like minorities and immigrants and the non white and everybody in between, but who cares, drunk they might even beat the heck out of their own sisters

Last Hired, First Fired? The Unemployment Dynamics of Male Immigrants in Germany

Europe tightens migration: critics say Europe's treatment of immigrants is damaging the relationship between the Mediterranean's `north' and `south.' Arabs are calling for observers to monitor abuses - Trends - Brief Article

Many Germans and Dutch, apparently, are not waiting for Broder鈥檚 advice. The number of emigrants leaving the Netherlands and Germany has already surpassed the number of immigrants moving in. One does not have to be prophetic to predict, like Henryk Broder, that Europe is becoming Islamic.

Well theres always people like that everywhere. In the states, as well, you have people who believe that the US is 'full' and they shouldn't let anyone else in. But most Americans aren't like that. Germany is no different. But honestly if you can find a job, learn the language, adapt to the culture, behave yourself and overall try to integrate yourself into society in Germany you shouldn't have a problem.

There was an article in Stern from 2004, 63% of Germans interviewed agreed that the muslim population in Germany is not assimilating enough. There are entire communities of muslims in German that are separated from the rest of the population, where German culture is rejected and even the children born in German still live like they did back in their home country, thus muslims are largely seen to be "foreign" What probably irks people most about immigrants is the new comers being different not only in race but language, customs and values, not learning the local language, customs and values, and only doing what the natives see as "bringing down society," so learn to adapt and respect the culture, be able to support yourself and most Germans will be fine with you. Most of the complaining I've heard is about Turks anyways.

I've studied in Germany, and even though it was obvious that I wasn't German, and was still trying to learn German, I had no problems with the locals, they were very nice and understanding.
