What to do in Munich for a day?

We have a free day in Munich in Sept and would like to know a few things to see. We don't speak German and that is worrying me a bit. Everyone I have known who has visited says it is a great place. Please help with a few sights to see/things to do. Thanks.

Everyone speaks english there. If it is a nice day out, visit the English Gardens. Of course you have to see the Glockenspiel. If you are on a budget, they have some great free tours. You just have to tip the guide. Also, there is Mikes Bike tours. The tours are the best way to see a lot of the city. Then end your day at the Hofbrauhaus!
