Why is Torrevieja so popular with Brits?

Spain is a beauitful country steeped in history, yet the area round Torrevieja is flat and just one massive building site, so why so popular

becuase its already full of them ,Brits tend to flock to where they are already in abundance to holiday/re-locate, this is especially true in Spain.

thats the reason why some 2 million English people now live on the Spanish Costas, they want the sunshine and cheaper property but essentially they seem to want a 'home from home' with English food and beer and English company, some of them show little interest in Spanish culture or the 'real' Spain, and certianly few of them bother to learn the language beyond the absolute basics. It's a bit sad and frankly embarassing, in my opinion.

I moved here because of my business plan. We did not want to be too far away from the uk as we have children who need to see grandparents regular and our business is in the tourist industry. Torre is between two airports and an hours drive from Benidorm, only a short half hour drive and you can be amongst the spanish villages, there are a number of nationalities here and more spanish are locating to the area. I feel others are in a similar position or just the fact of the exhibitions for property are mainly aimed at the area nd the support netwok is here for british ex pats so know no different
