Minicruise to rotterdam or bruges?? never been 2 any so any advice ideas would be great?

Bruges is a beautiful city to just stroll in,it's like a medieval city. So just go sightseeing

Presume this is via North Sea car ferries, with at least a overnight stay. I would opt for Bruges as it is easy to navigate in one night. Plenty to do, with excellent food and bars.

Bruges is a pretty old town, very touristic, cute and comfy.
Rotterdam is a world town, with much in shopping and much in modern architecture. Much in culture, but more cut edge rather than cozy.

It does depend on what you like, as both are good places to go.
(I prefer Bruges, but I go to Rotterdam more often because it is much nearer for me.)

i live in rotterdam, and eventhough i think the world of this city. im afraid its not really a touristy place to go. In Rotterdam, you really need to know where to go, or you wont find anything interesting. everything is 'hidden' as it where. we do have a lot of modern architecture though.

if you do decide to visit, i do recommend Museumpark, Schouwburgplein, and the old harbor (if you like clubbing.) De lijnbaan and Koopgoot are the places to be if you like shopping.

I have been to bruges once, and i must say its a nice city to visit if you like old buildings.

No contest!! If you have never been to Bruges you must. I visit it regularly as it is such a lovely place to visit. The biggest advantage is that Bruges can be "done" in a day (altho' a 3 day break is far better) It is a beautiful medieval town which you just wander around and at every turn there's another view to photograph. There are dozens of reasonably priced restaurants (have waterzooi - honest) chocolate and lace shops and about 600 different beers. You can also have a tour in a horse-drawn carriage. They charge per carriage not per person so it's best to get 4 people to go together.
There is much to see. Get a guide before you go.

There is a Swiss or German Rhine cruise company which organises exactly the cruise you are looking for: amsterdam/ rotterdam/antwerp/ brugge. There are one or two departures per year. Google "Rheinkreuzfahrten or Rhine Cruises and see what pops up. Bon voyage.

You do realise that Rotterdam is in The Netherlands and Bruges is in Belgium???
Rotterdam is great for shopping and all sorts of modern arcitecture, Bruges is great for eating chocolate and it just looks so cute!
Try to go to both!

Which mini-cruise?
If it is Hull - Rotterdam then go into Rotterdam, it will give you about 9 hours in an interesting modern city with loads of shops, restaurants and pubs.
If, on the other hand, it is Hull - Zeebrugge, then by all means go into Bruges, it is quite close to the port and will give you about eight hours in a typically beautiful European City.
Personally I would pick the latter even if it was only for the profusion of historic buildings.

Not even a choice. Bruges. It is delightful, full of surprises, excellent food, beautiful buildings, I could go on forever. I lived in Holland, and Rotterdam is nice but just a haven, nothing like Bruges. Do a search on Yahoo and you will find out how wonderful Belgium is. Holland is, also, but not Rotterdam. Worst choice of all.
