Has anyone rented a camper can in Holland?

Since we need somewhere to sleep and something to drive on our vacation in Holland, we are thinking of renting a camper van. Has anyone done this before in Holland? Answers specific to Holland only please. It seems by the prices that it would be less than half of the cost of a car rental and hotel room.

Unfortunately you forgot to factor in the cost of parking it. You're not allowed to just park it anywhere and sleep in it, but you'll have to find a camping site, and guess what... They're not free ;) If you want to stay at a campingsite there's various options, like tents, caravans, campers, bungalows, all can be rented... I hope by the way that you're not considering driving a camper van into the city of Amsterdam, because you'll spend half your vacation (not) parking it... If you like riding bicycles you might want to consider staying at a campingsite and using (rented) bicycles for transportation. You can take bicycles on the train for longer distances and there's bicycle paths/parkings everywhere. Much much much cheaper than using a car to get around and just as fast in combination with trains.
