Anyone been to Helsinki in the winter?

My daughter and i are going to Helsinki at the end of the year..can anyone who has been let me know any likes, dislikes and suggestions?? also..do we need to learn any Finnish or do they speak english?..we are staying at the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in downtown Helsinki..thanks!

I think, you don t need anything.
Helsinki is like any harbour in winter.
Its only 20 degrees colder then in Netherlands.
Don t worry about the language.
In SAS-Hotels everybody speaks english.
The citicen to 80% do.
Happy holiday;))

The weather isn't that cold and it's getting warmer and warmer in every year because the climate changes.
Right now (winter), it's 0 - +1 degrees Celsius in Helsinki but there are snow on the ground
You don't have to learn Finnish because almost everybody can speak in English
For example:: The worst skill of mine is English and I have been the worst student at my school class. Even that I'm that bad, I can understand everything that people are saying and I can talk with them too. So you'll manage with your English skills.
-Only the old people can't speak in English (very well) but they can understand that

篓There are smart and kind people in Finland, so I think that you'll having a nice trip
