Does anyone know how to say hair or shears or any names in dutch for a beauty shop?

Thanks!!

Hi,
In the Netherlands most beauty shops are still just hairdressers, locally known as 'kapper', (women only as 'dames kapper',) but can go under many different descriptions.
My local one was called 'The hair shop' (it closed recently.)
Most hairdressers are unisex, but if there is 'herenkapper' on the window, it is a gents only place.

Shears, scissors, are 'schaar' for one pair and 'scharen' when you talk about more pairs of scissors or shears.
Hair is 'haar' or 'haren' and a comb is a 'kam'.

A salon where they will clean your skin, take care of your eyebrows and so on is known as 'schoonheids salon' or under one of the common English names.
Nails are also done in a separate 'nagel studio'.

Hi Moomers8,

http://babelfish.altavista.com/ is an online text translator that seems to work pretty well. Maybe that will help?
