Immigrating to the netherlands. ASAP!!?

I have a soon -to-be spouse in holland, I myself live in canada. I am now carrying his child in my belly (good thing good thing) however immigration has always been a gray area for me. If you have any information on immigration for myself to go over there with his child, or as his wife, That would be great..

I would advise contacting the Dutch Embassy in your country to find out exactly what you need to do. You will probably be asked to identify yourself, so you will need your passport. You will also need to your birth certificate, so get that also. And most importantly for women, you will also have to be able to prove that you are not married or have never been married to someone other than this Dutchman. This has to do with alimony payments, it is my understanding. You need to talk to someone in the Dutch Embassy about this, and get a letter from the authorities in Canada stating your marital status.

What will be useful also, later on, are any educational and/or training certificates, degrees, diplomas. The Dutch are pretty much straight up when it comes to employment, and you have to be able to show that you are competent in the job in order to be able to do it. Thus, you have to show what you've been taught to do. Once you're there, sign up for a Dutch language class, there are many available for foreigners. Ask at the nearest University for their language centre (Talen centrum) and put in the time and do your homework, it's well worth the effort.

Even if you get married before going to the Netherlands, you will have to go through all the red tape, and your partner will have to do with you for the first time, also with ID, as you will have to prove your relationship is genuine. It's just one of those things .... but they are usually pretty good about it and it's a reasonably streamlined process as they are used to doing this for foreigners moving into the country. Plus they will try to take your pregnancy into consideration with regard to the timing, etc.

In these sites you will have plenty information:

Check out your local library and contact Dutch Travel Bureau, and Immigration service. They would have the info.
