Coffee shops in Amsterdam near centraal station you can smoke weed & drink lager in?

The newer, bigger, Grasshopper is slap-bang in the middle of touristville. People either love or hate this place. Its detractors complain about the high prices and lack of really world-beating smokes. Fans like the music and party atmosphere.
In the basement is the coffeeshop where the dealer can be found. On the ground level there is a DJ booth and full bar. The next level has another bar and at the top is a restaurant.

The Grasshopper's prominent position makes it a landmark. It's very easy to find from Centraal Station and, therefore, serves as a meeting point. It's not a connoisseurs shop but neither is it a rip-off. The weed is good but not outstanding and the environment is lively. Probably the best of the commercial coffeeshops.

To be honest, we tend to treat this place as a smoker-friendly bar rather than a coffeeshop.

This is the only place in the guide where you have to pay to use the toilet. Many Dutch bars have a toilet attendant who collects a mandatory tip for each visit but this is one of the few coffeeshops to adopt the practice.
