What will you see when you visit Anne Franks house in Amsterdam? |
What will you see when you visit Anne Franks house in Amsterdam? I always thought people were being really crass and rude about it when they said that the Anne Frank house was 'overpriced' and 'not worth it'. I would also like to visit Santa's Village and La La Land. The website should give you some idea: You will go through the actual house itself, and although it's not "exciting", most house museums aren't. But it IS very moving... You are very touched to think of her reality along with the others in the house, those who were helping to hide them, and of course the reality of that period of history itself. Even the actual diary is on display. I understand the lines can get long at times, but I went in the late afternoon and didn't have to wait at all. If in Amsterdam, I would highly recommend it. It's not necessarily what you will see, but how you will feel.... Not really much to see. Mostly tvs playing informative videos about Anne and the Holocaust. It wasn't really interesting watch them, tell you the truth. I think they expanded the apartment from the original during Anne's time. What mostly stood out in my memory was a fine ceramic toliet with blue decorations on it, kind of reminded me of oriental plates with the embroidered trims. There's a small cafe also, pretty modern looking compared to the rest of the museum. |
