Is smoking pot legal in Amsterdam?

Is smoking pot legal in Amsterdam?

I live in Belgium. near the border with Holland.

Technically it is NOT LEGAL. But the coffee shops sell it in Amsterdam and every other city in Holland. You can buy some, smoke it there, but once you leave the shop, you are illegal. The police and government do not bother little coffee shops and customers inside.
IF you are stopped by police and you have just a few grams on you.. the police confiscate it, step on it, smash it into the ground. Too much paperwork for a little amount.
IF you take it back to Belgium, same treatment.
If you have several grams.. then you are in trouble.

Thank you...A tip..the police often stop small cars with 4 young people in it. Because 20 grams divided by 4 people, gets nobody in trouble. 20 grams on one or two people means fines and court. Report It

yep in the coffee shops and various other cafe's they have there

no

oh f*** yeah!

Yes it is, they have bars that sell it. All kinds.

Says who? Well, best way to find out is pack you things up and fly to Amsterdam. :-)

Yes, it is. They have special cafes where you go and buy your stuff, and smoke it.

A Dutch friend of mine told me that for about the equivalent of $5 (USD), you can get some extremely good quality stuff, and also that you get quite a bit, quantity wise, for your money. He didn't tell me details, like how much an 1/8 costs, but he said you could definitely get a good, long-lasting high for $5, or about 3.5 Euros. He also said if you want to spend a little more, you can get the absolute best stuff on the planet.

He said it's pretty much like a tobacco store is in the US, only it's a cafe. You pick the grade, meaning quality, and you pay for it, and it's yours. He's kind of a heavy-weight as far as pot goes, what with living there and smoking whenever he wants, and he said the really primo stuff is so good he no longer buys it because he's still high the next day when it's time to go to work.

His only warning was that you have to smoke it in the cafe--you cannot take it out on the street. He said it's confiscated by the police right away if you take any off the premises with you. So, cafes are fine, but no taking some home to enjoy later...

From what I understand, it is not at all legal, but the laws regarding marijuana are not enforced. It is widely used and sold publicly in bars much like our coffee shops. If you are caught with it while they are getting you for something else it can be added on, but otherwise they may just confiscate or ignore it altogether. Here is a link for you, detailing this further.

From what I heard, Yes.
And their even nice enough to give you needles if you need them.

The place has gone completely to hell too.
Junkies crapping all over the place and the crime rate is through the roof.

Illicit drugs, they're a hoot.

Drugs

Even though Amsterdam is known for its liberate drugs policy, it doesn鈥檛 mean going wild with every kind of drugs will be tolerated. As a tourist you have to realize that not everyone in Amsterdam takes drugs and likes it. Therefore it is not allowed to smoke weed in most public spaces, such as a caf茅 or club. If you want to smoke it is recommended to do it in the coffee shops.

Other than weed, Amsterdam offers a lot of other drugs. If you walk through the Red light district, dealers will probably offer you coke or other hard drugs. Be very careful when buying from these dealers. They might not only rip you off or rob you, they often sell fake drugs. And secondly, while smoking weed is legal, coke is not completely legal. Carefully read the drugs policy before taking risks.

This also includes eating mushrooms (magic paddo麓s). Lately there have been some tragic accidents due to the result of eating mushrooms. If you have never eaten mushrooms before, you need to fill yourself in about the possible effects of these drugs. Even though the drugs are named as soft drugs, the effect can be unpleasantly hard if you don鈥檛 know the risks.

it is legal to smoke , where is not smoking forbiding, you can buy only in coffe shops , maximum 5 grammes...

Yeah, it's legal, but it ain't a hundred percent legal. I mean you can't walk into a restaurant, roll a joint, and start puffin' away. You're only supposed to smoke in your home or certain designated places.
