Garbage grinders/disposals in Netherlands?

I am trying to find out if garbage grinders/disposals are illegal in Netherlands. I was told by a dutch contractor that they are but I need proof and I havent been able to find any on the internet. Does anyone know of a law the specificly states they are illegal to have/use in a house?

I have a garbage disposal in the house that I live in. Ive been in the Netherlands for 3 years. The reason Im asking is because we are about to move out and it stopped working.

Basically, it's the law that you can only use the sewage system for wastewater and human waste products and you may not dump any other type of garbage in it, no matter how well you grind it...

Then again, I'm not a lawyer, sorry... This info is to the best of my knowledge....

I wondered about the same thing. I live in Germany and there are no disposals. It's really gross how they dispose of food and organic materials.

I lived in the Netherlands for six years and I have never seen them in any houses there. You separate your rubbish for recycling, that's what's done over here.

People in the Netherlands do not have garbage disposals. I do not know if there is a law but they are not used.
