How long should it take for a letter to reach Amsterdam if I sent it on 02-16-2008?

I live in South Dakota

From the main post sorting station in the USA it can be as little as 2 days, or as much as 2 weeks for priority/first class/air mail.
It can take up to six weeks if you choose the cheaper 'surface' mail but it can be still delivered in 2 days if you are lucky. (Up to 3 months around Christmas, but now it should be much quicker.)
I can not know how long it takes within the USA, but that would be the same as for a letter send to one of the big towns in the USA, again depending on the class of service.

From the Netherlands itself it would be next day if you make the right shift and are not sending it on a saturday. Where are you sending it from? Best thing to do is to check what your local postal service delivery times are as this can differ from coutnry to country.
