Are you from The Netherlands? How do you feel about your country?

I'm Dutch and feel pretty good about it. Of course, all Dutchies have their niggles when it comes to the way our government works, and the same goes for our public transport system, taxes, inflation, the weather, etc.

When it comes to the traditional discussion about our lenient soft drugs policy or our stance concerning abortion, euthanasia, and gay rights: it all seems to work for us. I wouldn't recommend these values as an export product since nothing will ever guarantee that the same liberal values would work in any other national setting. But within our own borders, the overwhelming majority accepts this as a progressive and pragmatic view on society in order to keep things manageable.

Across the board, Dutch people don't feel the need to apologise for their beliefs and policies, but then again Dutchies don't feel any compulsion whatsoever to force anyone else into sharing our beliefs either.
