New orleans la. in the last six months?

news in the last six months from new orleans la. 70117

Bob W ..

If it were up to you THE WHOLE COUNTRY WOULD BE IN RUINS.. . oh except for your city right ?

By your narrow minded comment .. You are also suggesting that we do nothing about all the states in tornado alley ..all the 100s of homes that get destroyed by tornadoes every year.. or the earth quakes in Cali .. or the mud slides in Cali .. or the forest fires in New Mex and Arizona .. or the hurricanes that hit Maryland, N & S Carolina .. Georgia .. Florida .. Alabama.. Miss.. Louisiana and TX. What about Mt St Helens in Washington State ? what if something happened there ? Sh!t happens everywhere .. no matter where you are .. you cant escape mother nature.

You make it apparent that you've learned nothing in your visit here. New Orleans is one .. if not THE most historic city in the unites states.. and 1 of the most cultured cities. .. but there is so much more to it then that.. not only new orleans .. but every city .. no matter how big or small .. has something to offer to the US.

and furthermore ..

WE REBUILD B/C It Is Someones Home !!!!!!! and not only someones home or home city... But It is Apart of everyones ! Its APART OF MY LAND AND MY COUNTRY .. THE UNITED STATES...

ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT GIVE US AMERICANS A BAD NAME..

SO GO F*CK YOURSELF

Hey Bob W, I see comments like yours all the time, but I DON"T see the "whine, whine, gripe, gripe" you claim is coming from New Orleans residents affected by Katrina. I see people doing the best they can to rebuild a huge area devastated by the worst natural disaster in US history - and doing it WITHOUT the "billions.... of tax dollars" you claim have been spent here (at least not spent on people).

Can you show us some documentation of the "whine, whine, gripe, gripe" you claim is so prevalent?

Bob W, you want whining and griping?

I'll tell you this... the billions of dollars you are talking about must be going elsewhere because most of it has not yet been released for expenditures down here.

GWB promised us help, but it is slow in coming.

You want whining? I'll whine in a hearbeat if it would START the flow of money that you must have heard about - but you never got the rest of the message. That a lot of it is tied up in things that won't help the USA citizens of the area.

But Bob, let's think about something else. You want to abandon N'Awlins. OK, let's do so.

But wait - you have the largest dock system in the USA by some statistics. (What I mean is, largest for certain specific types of shipping.) You cripple the USA's balance of trade if you lose those docks.

Those docks are served by rail, highway, and air freight. All of the infrastructure for those shipping lines becomes useless if we abandon the city.

Well, OK, let's do that too. But now we have to REPLACE the lost shipping capacity by building elsewhere. So that means if we are going to use the river, we have to buy up rights of way all along the bank for the new docks. Then we have to do a ton of Eminent Domain or private purchase of property to support the new alternative shipping for rail, highway, and air service.

Or... we could just repair what was broken and try to fix it better this time.

Bob W, you are an unmitigated JERK who is so shallow in your thinking that you cannot see how intertwined each region is to its neighbors. Where you come from, Bob, the people must think a windfall profit will come their way if N'Awlins goes down the tube. Otherwise you come across as callous, cold, and cruel.

Gee, Bob. I just can't imagine why someone would rebuild a CENTURIES old PORT city, and SO near the Gulf of Mexico too. Perhaps you're not aware of how much the rest of the country depends on this port city that the govt. has *wasted* so much of your tax $$$ on. How about we just stop all the oil tankers, grain ships, cargo vessels, etc. right here in the Port of N.O., prevent them from going any further upriver, and keep all the loot for ourselves. [sniff sniff...I smell ignorance]

I am so sick of hearing about New Orleans....I'll never visit there again ..whine whine whine gripe gripe after billions and billions of tax dollars.....Why would ANYBODY......ANYBODY..rebuild below sea level AGAIN? Makes no sense.
