What is your Opion on Greenwich Village in NYC?

my opinion?
I like Greenwich Village .....after all the skyscrapers and tall apartment buildings here in New York, it is nice to be in a village atmosphere

For the last 180 years it has been a center of art and culture. Even NYU and rich people haven't completely erased that. I would live there if I wasn't so happy in Park Slope for the past 35 years.

Even though a large majority of Greenwich Village is home to upper middle class families and NYU, the Village still home to those who want to express their art, even though the area has change a lot in the last 15 years and many artist left the area for cheaper accomedations.

you can get marijuana and cocaine in the village, but not opium, it's passe.

Greenwich Village is a great, funky place to live and/or visit. You'll find a nice selection of restaurants, stores and convenience stores there. The residents are a mix of old Greenwich Village and newer, younger, richer and hipper folks. Washington Square Park is the epicenter of the Village, where people still hang out and gather to watch street musicians and other artists ply their wares. The Village is also home to NYU, so the population is relatively young. Rentals and real estate are pretty steep. The Village is also home to a big block of Marc Jacobs stores, so you get a lot of out-of-town visitors and tourists coming into the Village. Public transportation in the Village is great, as it is elsewhere in NYC. i just went down to greenwich today, Its not that amazing, its alright, alot of college kids [nyu]
