Where is the best place to park at Yankee Stadium?

Game is Sunday afternoon 1:05pm. I'm driving from New Hampshire...so I can take I-95 or Meritt Pkwy once I'm in CT. What time should I plan on arriving in Yankee Stadium area to ensure I get a parking space and get in before 1st pitch? Also...how is the traffic on Sundays? I know its terrible during the week....

By the Woodlawn train station, last stop on the number 4 with parking right along Woodlawn Cemetery by Jerome Avenue. SERIOUS!

(DIRECTIONS: Merritt Parkway to Hutchinson River Parkway to the Cross County exit. When highway divides, stay to your right side and get out the Central Avenue (I-87 South) exit. Get onto the New York State Thruway and get out the E. 233rd Street exit. Go straight past E. 233rd Street and then start looking for parking...as near as you can to the train station).

Parking around Yankee Stadium IS a nightmare, even on a Sunday. There are plenty of cars parked by the Woodlawn Cemetery that do the same thing...park their car along Jerome Avenue near the cemetery (quiet area at that part) and take the "4" train down to Yankee Stadium from there (train time about 15 minutes).

At least when you leave the stadium, you are mainly going AGAINST the crowds that are heading into Manhattan so you should be able to find a seat and a less crowded train heading back up to Woodlawn (the last stop)

Parking at Yankee Stadium is a nightmare. Yes, there are a few lots and garages right in that area, but the traffic is awful going in there and leaving aftewards. From Bergen County, NJ, for example, without traffic, it'd take just over an hour. On game days, for a 1pm game, we'd leave my house at around 10am, no joke. If we happened to get there early, for some bizarre reason, we'd go hang out near the players' entrance- you can sometimes see some of the players come in late. ;)

You're far better off driving down to Weehawkin and taking the Yankee Clipper, a ferry boat, in from there. It's not cheap, but it's much less stressful.

Dont drive to Yankee Stadium. That is the worst thing you can do, especially since they began the construction on the New Yankee Stadium. Your better off parking at the end of the B,D or 4 line, and taking the subway to the stadium. You could also park in Westchester County and take Metro North, but that would require a transfer from Metro North to the subway.
