Safe, cheap parking in Newcastle? Near Carling Academy?

Can anyone tell me the best place to park which is both safe, and cheap? Or better yet, free.

I'm off to see Gogol Bordello at the end ef March, so I need somewhere I can park that is still within walking distance of the Carling Academy.

As mentioned, there are car parking facilities near there.... but the chances of getting parked are next to zero, not to mention the cost.

Your best bet is to park beside a metro station somewhere just outside of town and jump on the metro. At least then you will only be looking at paying something under 拢3.00 return.

I don't know of any free places, maybe someone else will but here is a link to city wide car parks (this doesn't seem to show the NCP car parks)

http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/wwwfileroot/...
(the academy is in B4)

Nearest car parking is Fenkle St multi story (13 on above map).

The NCP car parks in the city are;

Stowell Street (NE1 4YB), (in the Gate)
John Dobson Street (NE1 8HL),
New Bridge Street (NE1 8AB),
Carliol Square (NE1 6UL).

there is a car park next to the arena on forth banks just around the corner dont park in central stn cost 拢12 for 3 hrs last time i parked there or try the car park on waterloo street which is even closer there is parking bays next to carling acadamey but u will be very lucky to get one on westgate rd and clayton st and clayton st west or cross st but like a say u will be very lucky to get one
