What kind of vehicle would be good for a cross country trip?

We are moving from Seattle, Wa, to Portland, ME, and are thinking about driving with our stuff cross country... any suggestions?
Also we do not have a big budget...

oh yeah, it's me and my fiance, and my junk... lol about 2 bedrooms worth of stuffs

I would start by looking into renting a trailer to tow with your vehicle, a U-haul or comparable, or a moving company. Turned out my friend used a moving company because it was more cost effecient.

How many people, how much luggage?
