What is Peru's cultural behaviors? Forms of greeting, concepts of time and personal space? Business customs?

Peru is pretty much a normal Latin country. Greetings vary between sexes. Men will shake other men麓s hands (no kissing) but they will kiss women on the cheek (only one kiss, not two like the french). Women will kiss each other on the cheek. Personal space is similar to the US (OK, maybe a little shorter than in the US, but not as short as African or Middle East). Time is another matter. In Peru there is actually the concept of "Peruvian time" (arriving late) and "English time" (arriving on time). There is even a concept of "ahora" (now) and "ahorita" (right now in this very instant). People are always "fashionably late" to parties, dinner invitations and so on, including business meeting.
In business, Peru has grown, but it is still a pretty small society, so you pretty much know most of the people you do business with. Trust is a main issue and most will tend to deal with people they know (courts in Peru are corrupt and inefficient, so you usually do your best to stay away from them)

they greet u by cooking live babies in a cauldron

air kisses on the right cheek with women. Men usually hug or shake hands.

Among friends, a glass is passed around when beer is drunk, so the glass is shared.

Arriving late, two, three or four hours for parties is not unusual.

In Peru the personal space in business is a close space ..for an introduction shake hard the hands to woman and men, ...the kiss in the woman chick is only if u know her or is u friend, dont dont do that if u dont know her!!! if you meet an important business man the bye sometime is with the 2 hands but shake hard in business attitude...If u do business in Peru the time is so important.. be on time!!! the time is not important if you are invited in some party or to some bar u can be late 30 minutes.. The definition of u clothes is important in business attitude. Carry business card and learn some words in Spanish.
