Afterwork hangouts in Philly?

Hey guys. I'm originally from NYC but am in Exton, PA on business for the next few weeks. What's a good afterwork hangout spot? Age 25-35, mixed crowd, music, etc. Looking for the West Chester - Philly area?

p.s. I wont be here on the wknds, so please give me some Mon-Thu ideas.

Thanks!

If you're staying in Exton, I don't recommend trying to get into Philly after work. At the best of times, it's at least a 40-minute drive... and rush hour is not the best of times. Exton itself is mostly chain restaurants, but there are plenty to choose from. West Chester is probably your best bet--it's a vibrant college town, and there's always a lot going on.

Within Exton, one of my favorite places is The Drafting Room (I do theatre in the area, and we often come here after shows). The food is delicious, and they have an extensive, rotating beer list. No live music that I know of, but if you like beer, this is a great spot for Happy Hour.

Under the same ownership is the Brickside Grille. Live music on the weekends, trivia night on Wednesdays, great food and drink every night of the week.

The Riverstone Cafe is really more of a martini bar; they also have an eclectic menu of tapas & small plates.

I've never been to Appetite's on Main (in the Main Street Shops, Exton), but they do offer music during the week, plus karaoke every Tuesday night. Good, convenient location, too.

As for West Chester, there are plenty of places to choose from. Vincent's Restaurant (10 E. Gay St.) specializes in jazz & blues; Sprazzo Cafe serves up espresso & gelato, but they have an open mic on Tuesdays. The Iron Hill Brewery is lovely (great beers too!) and advertises regular music, as does Kildare's (which can get a little too club-like for my tastes)

There are many other fine restaurants in the town; downtown West Chester's restaurant guide can be found here:

If it's specifically music events you're after, check out the listings here:

Enjoy your stay!

I only know the sports bars scene, like Chicky & Pete's or Dave & Busters. Both are relatively close to the stadiums south of the city.

digphilly.com...lots of stuff

Iron Hill Brewery - There are several in your area. West Chester offers a lot of great places to go out, but it's also a college town. There will be a lot of young 20-somethings out. There's a good Martini lounge in WC, I think if you Google it, you'll get more information.

dave and buster, chicky and pete's
