I am going to study in new zealand in queenstown so please what about the weather in summer and winter?

please i want to ask about transportation also and how much does it cost ?

Summer (Jan-March) HOT up to 30 or so most days.
Winter (June-August) COLD up to 5 or 6 degrees most days.

Public transport is regular and reliable within the Frankton to Fernhill area with more improvements in the pipeline to incorporate Kelvin Heights too.
It costs about $1.20 from Frankton to the town centre, but 10 trip tickets are available. Most of the hotels are served by the buses.

There are large supermarkets in Gorge Road (right opposite Video Ezy) and at Remarkables Park (a comprehensive shopping complex at Frankton). There is also a small one right in the centre of town. Up until last week there was also a 24 hour shop that sold almost everything, but this week it's a pile of ashes (ooops).
Driver T

I personally never noticed much difference in costs between one city and the next. Transport..Intercity coachs are good to get there, then if you are staying awhile look in the Trader paper for a cheap car to use while you are there. The town itself is small enough to walk or bike wherever you want to go. Weather is fairly mild year round with the occassional snow storms in winter.

Queenstown is in Central Otago, which is as far from the coast as you can get in NZ, so it has a continental climate; hot (up to 30 C) in summer and cold (down to minus 5 C) in winter. Public transport is poor; you'll need your own transport. Living expenses, especially accommodation are the highest in NZ. But there's one reasonably cheap supermarket at Frankton, about 5 km. away.
