To do PhD from New Zealand, should I stay at New Zealand?

How many years should I stay there?

You can do your PhD - IF - you get admitted into the program - it depends upon in which field you are studying, and at which University. Some subject areas and /or Unis are very competitive and selective. However I would definitely NOT recommend your having a child in the midst of your studies.

Do not pay any attention to Snow R - I'm sure he has good justification for hating New Zealand but he tends to rant about the 'horrible treatment and ripoffs' he experienced from the Kiwis. But his is another (sad) story...

That depends whats available to you and where the best resources are. My son got his degree in NZ and a first class honours degree in Australia. That was excellent for him

All the universities have students doing PhD in many disciplines.

no. you will not have a good future there....choose a bigger country not New Zealand with narrowminded people.

To me my worse mistake ever I have made was choosing New Zealand....i have lost 5 years of best years of life, lots of money, health, motivation and youth....all my friends who chose to go to USA, Canada, Europe and Australia were happily successful but I had to spend my whole energy to find a way to run away from NZ after being ripped off and bullied and tortured at my work place.....i am out of there for the last 3 years...i am happy i got out but still every minute the ugly bitter resentment i have towards kiwis makes my heart heavy...just do not stay there for God's sake
