What does Punta Luna mean in Portugeuse?

In Spanish, it is the name of a place in the Dominican Republic. Somebody said it means something else in Portugeuese..what is it?

Ponta da Lua (Portuguese) or Moon Point (english)

Sounds like "Moon Point" to me. The Babel Fish translator doesn't recognize "Punta Luna" in Portuguese; it doesn't recognize either word at all. It translates "Moon Point" into "Ponto Da Lua." In Spanish, it would be "Punto de la Luna." However, when spoken aloud, perhaps it sounds more like the Portuguese word for "whore," which in Spanish translates to "puta."

No, it means the same thing as in Spanish....Moon Point. And it's not Portuguese.

Someone's either pulling your leg or has some other 'vocabulary' going on...David has the right idea.

I don't recognize "Punta" as a Portuguese word - it is close to Ponto - meaning pip, dot, full stop, jot, matter, point, prompter, punt, speck, speckle, spot, stitch, stop, pinpoint

Also similar to Ponte - meaning causeway or bridge

The Portuguese word for 'moon' is lua.

So, I'm going to say it means nothing in Portuguese - but then it has been a while since I lived in Brazil. Perhaps it is a slang term. I'll stick with it being Spanish.

i guess you mean portuguese.i don`t speak spanish very well but i think it`s " punta de la luna",it makes more sense to me. portuguese:ponta da lua.english:moon point .

It is beautiful moon or best night.

Punta Luna is Spanish not Portuguese. So you can translate from Spanish to Portuguese as many did above.
Someone was probably pulling your leg because if you take away the "n" from Punta you will get a different word (in both Portuguese & Spanish)

It means either Moon Point or Point Moon. Kinda hard to tell since they swich there word around. I speak portugese. =)

Punta Luna n茫o 茅 portugu锚s e sim espanhol!!
Isso n茫o tem no Brasil
Eu sou Brasileira e nunca ouvi falar nisso!

It is definitely spanish. We don't have these words in portuguese. ... maybe the way it pronounces it, might mean something different.... like "peruqueiro" is "hair dresser in spanish and in Porutuguese means someone or somewhere that sells wigs....
