Moving to San Francisco? |
Hey everyone, What about some places like, San Jose, Walnut Creek, or Sacramento? San Francisco rents are high. I live in San Jose, born and raised and love it. It is nice but the rents are very high here too and you still have the commute. Sacramento rents are very reasonable but the commute is terrible and long plus it's very hot in the summer time unless you really like the dry and heat. Now Walnut Creek is a nice compromise but the rents there are starting to get high. Next door to Walnut Creek is Concord and the rents are better and the commute is not that bad. So I would opt for Concord or Walnut Creek. Unless, you can catch a break and get a good rent deal in the City. Thanks for the best answer! Report It yes San Francisco. is Very EXPENSIVE..and Oakland is really bad..i know i'm from East Oakland..it Feb 19 and the death(shooting) rate is already 20..but try berkeley..pretty weird but kool..just stay away from North , East, West, port of the north, East Palo Alto.unless you are use to the ghetto.anywhere esleyou will be fine..bus and bart could take you anywhere in the bay.. rents have come down some in the bay area. you might try the outer parts of the city like the richmond or sunset. those areas are closer to the beach and park and not quite as busy as the inner city neighborhoods. there is easy access to bus lines as well. good luck. I lived iin the San franciso Bay Area for 14 years. In S.F. for about 7 years, then Berkeley, then Walnut Creek. My fav was Berkeley. So much to do, close to the city and lovely. Walnut Creek was really, really nice too. If it is just you, you can do a share rental. There are tons of ads for roomates. You can check on Craigslist for San francisco. There are also companies that help you find a room to rent also. I moved to SF when i was 19, started as a bicycle messenger for the summer, than landed a job at a law firm I made a lot of deliveries for. Worked in law for 10 years after that. SF Bay Area is THE BEST place to live when you are in your 20's-30's. Tahoe is close by, GREAT beaches, great nightlife, great food....and really, really great people. Hope this helps! Wow I lived their for about a month not too bad i know, but if you have a job it shouldn't be too bad I left cause of the mobs of people, can't stand large crowds. I always have to question why people want to move here. |
