Where to find cheap hotel, motel or hostel accomodation for about a month in San Jose California?

I shall visit Bay Area in the last week of February for about a month. I need cheap affordable accomodation in San Jose / Santa Clara for five weeks. Can someone suggest how and where to find it. I need definite locations with contact numbers or email addresses of the places offering temporary stay.
I have tried to search on the net but it did not lead to anything.
