Price of gold changes daily in KSA (it follows the rate of the US Dollar), its best if you ask the salesman in the shop when you go to buy. Also be careful different shops will have slightly different rates (so try to pick a few shops and make them your friends).

Make sure you ask about rate for each type, there are different rates for different karats (usually you will only find 18 or 24 karat), also different rate if it's new or used. And if there is any kind of stone the price will go up (even if the stone is not precious or only semi-precious)

I would suggest going to Bathaa (bat-haa) gold market (some people call it Dirah gold market), they have the best prices. Also Tibah market has a good selection of jewellers. If you are looking for style and don't care about price then go to the big chain jewellers like Othaim, Romaizan, Lazurdi (Lazurdi has designs to die for)
