Is there anything to worry about when swimming in the water in seychelles?

like sharks, stingrays i dunno stuff like that
and if you know of anything else you have to watch out for on land?? I'm not sure if they have poisonous spiders or anything??

Hi, I'm a seychelloise (local) and as like other countries we have a dangers. In the ocean we have sea urchins, the black ones with longs spines, but they are no harm unless you touch them, then the spines will break off into your skin, which then you will need to burn them out with a candle. Sharks aren't a problem unless you go tying a hunk of meat to you and swim outside the reef. Sting rays are very rare (cos we eat them, just the same with sharks) but I don't think we have had many incidents with sting rays also the same with sharks. We rarely have jelly fish, so your pretty much safe in the water. Plus locals will tell you were its safe to swim. For Intendance beach has massive waves that break on the shore line and will toss you like a washing machine. Believe me it hurts. And as for our spiders, we don't have as many as other countries. Us islanders aren't worried about spiders, its the centipede, which it won't kill you, but it hurts for a while and swells alittle and also a yellow wasp. You have to agitate it to sting you though. But as any sting it hurts. Thats it. Hope I helped. Enjoy
