We just had a power cut Sheffield?

I'm in Sheffield 14 any one else had the power cut,? It lasted about 15 minutes. My kids were cacking themselves as they haven't seen one before. all I got was, "haven't you paid the bill again." The houses and streets were in pitch black. Oh, I don't think I can contain my excitement.

we had one last new year offfour 12 hours got candles and lot out kids kept asking for things that took electric e,g cuppa listen to music we even had to go to loo in dark. workmen came to dig up road some idiot offered them a cup of tea before they statred they were on the side of the street that had electric. we were 12 hours it does get boring and freezing good lick I'm near pontefract not too far from you x

You should consider yourself lucky!!! I live in a tiny village in Cornwall, and we have power cuts all the time. The last one was last tuesday, the power went offat 4-00pm, and didn't come back on until 10-00am the next morning. We don't have any street lights in our village, so you can just imagine how dark it is. I always make sure I have a good supply of candles in. We have no mains gas either, so we can't even make a cuppa, or have a hot meal. Fortunately we have a coal fire, so we make toast, and toast marshmallows.
