Can anyone tell me how long it takes for a parcel sent by surface mail to south africa??

I sent a parcel to south africa by surface mail(shipping) on 09/01/2008 and it has not yet arrived at its destination

Three long long months. If you are lucky, i have sent parcels 1st class as well and it took the same time then you are lucky if someone does not steal it in the post-office in SA. One of our parcels had dvd's etc in it that was all missing when my son received it .

From where?

So from the U.K. Hm, don't really know about that. However, two parcels that have been sent from Germany got lost. They never turned up.
Another delivery with FedEx which was supposed to be done within 3 days (paid a lot of money for it) took about 3 weeks. Postal service is rather bad here.

But anyway... good luck with your parcel.

Courier not have a tracking service?

Yip you would need to say from where....

my mum in SA sent my brother in the UK a parcel in April 2007 and it hasn't arrived yet either. Did you get a tracking number? I think if it is an overseas tracking number they can only tell you when it left the country - once it arrives in SA anything can happen....and sadly, it does. We have had 3 parcels sent to us from overseas that never arrived. One that did, had clearly been tampered with and when we phoned our friends to say thanks for the parcel, they asked if we liked the book....what book we asked????mmmmmmmm

From the UK that can be 3-4 months or longer.
