Culture Friday on Yahoo SA answers?

Okay....

let's have book reviews, song reviews and anything else cultural that we would like to contribute? NO POLITICS!!!

Anyone.....?

I have introduced 'Freshly Ground' to everybody I know in Germany, England, and Ireland. Everybody loved them. They will soon be 'On the Map'

Are we cultured enough for that? Ha, ha. I read a very interesting book called Fine Lines by Quintin van Kerken.

Freshly Ground never ceases to amaze me with their music (their music videos have a lot to be desired)

But I think the song (now a little old) - FIRED UP - is brilliant...

And getting way too little "air time" on radio

Yeah, go for it; no half measures!

No sweat!

I love to read but more often than not i am disappointed when i see the movie - sometimes scenes described in the book is left out or altered and then it changes the whole concept of the story - lol it is true about most but not all movies

I just finished reading Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman and I'm currently reading the second book in the trilogy named "The Subtle knife"

In my opinion it's a very well written book even though the content is somewhat controversial.

we need a new radio station in this country...having switched from the old springbok radio, to 5 FM , to highveld, to TUKS FM and Jacaranda I now firmly believe there is a market for people like me who wants to hurl every time you hear kak music....and so many stations play kak music, repeatedly...
Like Karin Zoid Says..."we want rock and roll"
Barney Simon is a legend.

fair one MJ, i've had to answer a q? in my Philosophy studies last Friday- is there a pure culture?

When is the next Paedophile Parade in Natal? Will Zuma be looking for a nubile 13 year old for his next wife?

Yes yes kom ons braai 'n vleisie oppi kole en drink 'n wijnje daarmee saam en sluk dit af met 'n lekka koppie boeretroos
