Sydney for 10 days?

hey peeps, i'm going to Sydney to 10 days in September. I want to get a true Australian experience. Want to see the city and the Blue Mountains. But, where can I see a kangaroo Crossing sign?? Im renting a car and planning to do some driving to the outskirts...is it possible to see one of these signs? Also, what are some MUST SEE MUST DO'S. I wanna make our trip a very memorable one! Thanks!

I'm not sure about seeing a sign but more tourism shops will sell keyrings and other niknaks with some signs on them.

Blue mountains and the three sisters, if a good start.

Perhaps a bridge climb or the Sydney harbour bridge.

Wollongong is a lovely drive.

Perhaps an NRL game, september will be nearing finals time so the crowd will be excited.

Taste a meat pie! The Robertson Pie Shop make a great meat pie, Robertson is in the highlands, about 40mins from Wollongong.

Definitely the Blue Mountains. 3 sisters at Katoomba. Some off the beaten track ones I strongly recommend :
Govett's Leap and Evans Lookout at Blackheath. Walk the undercliff walk at Wentworth Falls. When driving, go one direction via the highway, through the little BM townships, and the other way along "Bell's Line of Road". Not sure, but you might see kangaroo signs there (but probably not kangaroos).

Big recommendation For Kanagara Walls, which is further west. Quite a drive, and is dirt part of the way. It passes through Jenolan Caves (limestone). High chance of seeing kangaroos of you are alert. Fabulous valley views at the end of the road, and a really interesting walk out onto the sandstone plateau.

North to the Hunter Valley for wine if you're into it. Great wine, but not as pretty as Napa Valley.

And of course the obvious : harbour cruise (take the ferry to Manly). Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge climb (or walk across the bridge if your on a tight budget)., Taronga Park Zoo has great harbour views, and you can see a platypus. Exploring the beach side suburbs north and south of the harbour - Manly and Bondi amongst others. Go to a football game - rugby league, rugby union or Australian Football. Drive to Wollongong via Pacific Coast Drive for great coastal views. Take the Postman Tour around Broken Bay, north of Sydney.Go sailing with a sailing school. Food is very good, and realtively inexpensive by US and European standards - by The Good Food Guide to choose your restaurant/s.

Go to the northern beaches of sydney.
for about a day.
there isnt many places for people to stay. except narrabeen camping ground.
but that is the most expensive caravan park in australia.
so it would be cheaper to just do a day trip.
you wont regret it.
its amazing.
(in particular narrabeen and manly)
