Snakes in kerala?

this may seem stupid but trust me it's not. my wife & i are thinking of going to kerala this xmas but i have a huge phobia of snakes, the bigger they are the less i like them.
do you see snakes in kerala , i won't be walking through long grass, paddy fields etc i've seen snakes in cyprus & mexico. they were on the roads & dissapeared as soon as we spotted them , is it the same in kerala?we will mainly by the beach/pool etc.
no stupid comments please. i'm an ex rugby league player & an ex coal miner so i'm not a wimp but every body is scared of something!

thanks for your answers.

i've been to Kerala...there are snakes there but you just dont see them...as you say...you won't be walking through the long grass etc., so you won't have any problems.

my tip...take a torch with you as not everywhere is lit up...& make sure you have a meal at Lighthouse Beach...very nice. have fun!

lo siento pero no te entiendo ni mad....

sos te cuidas.

You will not find a single snake in Kerala out side the zoo.
Do not worry. All the roads and beaches are free from natural dangers.

Enjoy !!

Nope. Chances of you seeing snakes in Kerala are slim. They are there of course - This is India but they normally prefer marshy, bushy, hidden your human eyes areas. So you should be okay as long as you dont venture out into no mans territory.

Have a good holiday and in case you need any assistance call Shalimar Spice Gardens in Thekkady (www.anantara.in/shalimar).
