Can someone please explain to me what's up with Club Powder Neck?

What's up wit chicks powdering up dey neck so?

I will not have ou all coming up in here and bad talking the girls from the group you term club powder neck!!!!
I would have you know that those are all hardworking young ladies who get up everymorning to help their mothers cook roti and it is so that de flour does remain on their chest and as a sign of hard work they just doh get de chance to clean it off!

They know that people sometimes use powder after a shower, so they coat themselves in it to show that they are clean. It does not matter if they are already very sweaty and rambuncious at the end of a hard hot day or a fete, the application of powder means that they are clean.

well being a former powder neck mehself, Icyah speak fuh nobody else, but I used to put it on cuz all meh fren dem used tuh wear it.. back in d day.. I never really grasped d concept of it.. I guess is tuh leh ppl kno yuh juss finish bade or somethin.. needless tuh say..dat eh lass loong, I geh ketch wearin it and meh powder wearin dayz done..

I was in Trinidad dis past Christmas and was wondering de same ting. I figure de powder was to sop up de sweat on dey neck cause it was so hot.

haha, i think it come from ppl who used to use it for sweat and thing, but now for some ah dem is jus style...some does overdo it though,
like somebody try to choke them with ah duster miss now clean the board with...

Only babies are allowed that much powder - but I like some of the answers from above (to show that you have taken a bath or to soak up some sweet) not to mention our own past powderdee!!

I don't like it, but clearly it's a cultural thing...I leave school so long and people still loading powder on dey neck and walking in public...why? I don't know!

Is either dey want we tuh know dey bathe or dey want the guys tuh check until way dey powder.
