Wht are some of the christmas song played in uruguay? |
I have to do a project for spanish about christmas in Uruguay, and any information regarding christmas in Uruguay and any music typical to that region would be helpful well, the christmas songs are the same as in the rest of the world, but in spanish(even though sometimes, in tv, they are in english).we all love christmas, even the ones who doesn't really belive. most of us decorete our houses and trees on dicember 8th.most of us spend it with family, not only parents and siblings, the whole family.we eat togather untill it's midnight, then the fireworks bigin. we spend days buying them and at 12 o clock everybody gets out of the houses(or in my case , my grandmather's backyard)watch them, fire our owns, say hello to our nightboors, and in some houses, like my own ,santa comes.(but we don't call him like that, here it's pap谩 noel)we all hear the bells from behind the house and the small kids that still belive run so that they can see him.my uncle comes down from the roof with presents and a disguise for .many others do the same, many.then we spend a lot of time opening presents, talking and then we leave so that we can have some sleep.and we don't have to worry about work, or class, we are in summer!to sum up, we are in summer, go with our families the 24 at night , eat, talk , have fun, at 12 have fireworks and then santa comes with presents.the other day we have lunch together again and some of us then go to the beach. Uruguay in many aspects is a non catholic country, depite most of us are educated in catholicism. Christmas is more a family day, so we don't go outside and sign carrolls. Also remember it's summer here ! A hot one. So, there is not a great idea of white christmas. Lived a year and a half in Montevideo and their Christmas songs are exactly the ones I heard when I lived in Chile, Ecuador, Argentina or Peru! There was Jingle bells, silen night, O tannenbaum, little drummer boy, Vamos pastores vamos, etc, both in english and spanish. Typical songs, like Rudolph, etc. |
