Anything that costs money or requires additional personal information or sounds too good to be true is very likely to be a scam.
This is a difficult question for anyone but you to answer. Only you know your limitations, skills, etc. What I can tell you though that it is *absolutely possible*.I have been traveling and working in Mexico,Central and South America for the past few years and have found several ways to clandestinely earn money.I also have many US and Canadian friends living in Latin America who have also found ways to earn money without alerting the authorities. It can be done. You might need to think outside the box a little. If it were a simple answer you wouldn't be asking the question .....or 20 people would have already given you the answer to this question.I hope this will encourage you. I don't think this very public forum is a place to discuss specifics.... Best of luck in your quest.

Would something like freelance writing work for you? All I can imagine is getting a job with a company and do your work from home but I don't know how that works either.

Heh, I'm in the exact opposite situation from you :P I'm an Uruguayan living in Canada.
