Is Vadodara a good place?

Hi... I want to move to India, I have a Wife and baby girl of to years. I need to know of any good areas to live in. I am looking for a safe area, something central. I Vadodara a good place to raise a girl and a family of three? Hope to hear from you guys...
Thanks

vadodara or baroda is a really good place...its a very family oriented place, typically gujrati....you will find all people having a gala time on weekends...you will find them at parks, movies, shopping malls and everywhere...i also believe its a very safe place(as long as those riots dont happen...)so if you plan to move to baroda, keep away from places which are highly inflammable to small sparks of communal disharmony(which happened when i was there)...other than that, its a safe place...as far as "central" kind of place is concerned, i wouldnt classify it to be central...i live in chennai,a metro, down south and i know the advantage of being in a central place...first there are no direct flights to/from baroda, you will have to go via ahmedabad..itsd not connected well by flights but trains, yes.also there are not many recreational places in baroda, than that compared to a metro..its a relatively small city and one can finish off touring the entire city in a week or so....i found that most people in baroda go to their relative's or friend's place in ahmedabad during the weekend...
also are you planning to stay there forever? its also a relatively cheap city and i was suprised i could travel close to 10km for just rs 5 in a share auto....the roads are good but there is no sense of traffic and thats the reason why you have to be careful, if you are driving..other than that i dont think there is any problem with baroda, its a very youthful place, you will see lots of youth at most of the places....well in parks too, experessing their love...and i was suprised to find that no one had a problem...
if you are a gujrati, you will fit into baroda quite easily...if you are not, then consider staying at a place that speaks your language.as far as baroda is concerned,im not sure about the job scenario and the college education for your daughter, i dont find any IT companies there but with good economic growth, i hope things will happen.its more of family business type and absolutely not industrial..you wouldnt find the hustle and bustle of city life in vadodara...and ofcourse buy an a/c to survive the summer....you can also look at hyderabad, chennai, ahmedabad, as they are safe, central and good areas..i wouldnt suggest bangalore or mumbai as they are already exploding with people and too costly to live...too jampacked..its meant only for the super-rich and industrialists..best of luck for your future..

Hi, if u ra gujrati then it will be fine for u to get settelled in vadodara.but if r new and u do not have any connection with gujrat or any bussiness or job here then dont go there. The best place to live in india is Bombay.it is safe ,people r helping in nature,it is economical capital of india, there r people of every corner of india and world u cansee them in bombay. it is the city of dreams. there r very high educational institution, every facitlity u can find in bombay.very good job and bussiness opportunity u can find here.people do not poke their nose in others affairs.u can afford to live ur life in bombay as u wish there r residential houses that range in a variety.if u will look home inside city it will cost more but if u go out in the suburb it will cost u less.So now it is up to u to decide.one more thing every season in mumbai is moderate.it is place u can visit 12 months a year.SO WELCOME TO MUMBAI.(Bombay)

Currently BJP and its alliance are ruling state govt of Gujarat and Vadadara (Baroda old name) is in Gujarat. In past Ahmadabad and Baroda was a worst place of killing minorities in communal riots. If you are Hindu - Brahman than it is same place. But if you are christian or belong to other minority community than it is hell place. Better to move with your business in Metro & cosmopoletine city like New Delhi or Bombay.
