Does anyone know the best way to travel from Caracas to Margarita Island??

I flew Avensa two years ago. Direct flight from caracas to Isla Margarita.

Check out the ferry, it is cheap and comfortable. I used it from PLC many times and understand there is a Caracas schedule.

The ferry from la Guaira to Margarita broke down a few years ago and the still haven't fixed it. The best way is by plane from Maiquetia, I went by plane a two years ago and it was a very short trip. Last year I went by ferry from Puerto La Cruz and it was just awful. First you have to travel to Pto La Cruz from Caracas, that's about 6 or 7 hours by car. On bus it's dangerous, a friend of mine died a few years ago on a bus accident from Pto la Cruz to Caracas. Then you have to take the ferry which leaves 3 hours later than scheduled and they over sell the seats so if you don't get there very early then you'll have to sit on the floor. It happened to me last year I paid VIP and had to sit on the floor and I was traveling with a senior citizen and small children.

i guess plane is the best choice.. but usually ppl prefer the ferry... ive been n margarita 4 or 5 times and ive travaled by ferry.. but its true what they said before me.. sometimes there r millions f porblems with ferry..for example if ur not at time (which is earlier =P)..
