What is the best place in Venezuela for an American to live?

It all depends on the amount of money you would be going with. If you're headed to Caracas (capital) I would suggest places like Alta Mira, Latillo - the east side of Caracas is best. This is the safest for you I wouldnt go more towards downtown (I'm Venezuelan and won't hehe). Also, Margarita Island, Merida are also good places. Hope this helps!

Go to big cities like Caracas, Valencia, Maracaibo or the island of Margarita.
In Caracas stay at the east or southeast. The US embassy is in Valle Arriba in Baruta.

Puerto La Cruz / El Morro / Lecheria area.
