Is it possible to leave the airport in Vienna if I'm only on a stopover there?

i'm travelling to Lithuania and i'm going to have a stopover at the Vienna airport. the stopover will be 6 hours and that on Easter and i would really love to meet a friend there. since is my 1st time flying i'm wondering if it's possible to leave the airport for a few hours. has anyone been in a similar situation?

if you have a pass port and that is in order to let you go to that area.
if not then no
if you do then you can, but you have to go through customs each way..you need to allow for all this extra time involved or you may miss your flight.

It depends on what your citizenship is. If you are American, no problem. If not, you might get a visa at the airport but it's not a certainty. If you're Ukrainian, give it a shot. Sometimes they'll give you the right stamp! Report It
