Is it possible to purchase one way tickets for others to Zurich, if you don't intend on travelling yourself? |
I might just have Zulu9..... Probably. Have someone in mind? Of course, just name them when you apply for tickets. I think it depends on where you buy them. I bought some plane tickets over the net and it stipulated that the person named on the credit card used to pay had to be flying. I am pretty sure you can only do this on charter flight companies now. I had someone in Romania purchase me a charter flight ticket at a travel agent in Romania and it was about 100euros cheaper than I could find. If you are in Zurich, try going to a travel agent and seeing if they can help you. If you are not in Zurich, then you need to contact the airline you want to fly with. It is possible that you can have the other person put on the ticket as the traveller even though you pay with your credit card. I don't know for sure if they do this anymore, but they used to. Ask the specific airline Good luck! If you are intending to fly then yes. Actually this is the case with all modes of transport. You may need their date of birth with some airlines but not all. Being a former travel agent of Trailfinders, yes Yes, the tickets are issued in their names, it is paid for by your credit card or cash. Passport # will probably be required when buying the tickets. You can buy tickets to anyone you鈥檇 like as long as you have means for them to prove they are who the tickets claim to be. I know the one that is strict to avail if not for yourself is insurance. And travel ticket for a child if your not the parent. No problem buying someone an airline ticket with your credit card/cash in their name. It depends on several things;usually you have to buy a roundtrip ticket for them as they are only allowed to stay in a country as a visitor for only a few months. Most countries won't allow one ways, as they don't want you going and staying there, so you must have a roundtrip ticket. It is perfectly legal to purchase airline tickets for someone else if you are not travelling. However, be aware that some airlines won't allow to do so under certain conditions (such as buying over the internet). I believe this is more because their systems cannot handle this and still allow efficient check in whilst still meeting current legislation. |
