How much will it cost to have a hearty meal for 2 people in Zurich switzerland in Euros?

If somebody who has been to switzerland can help me it would be wonderful

Well I will be staying in Hotel Montana in Zurich & will be staying at Hotel Charlet in interlaken oberland ,most of the stay is at interlaken oberland only 1 day in Zurich.

I am visiting for 1 week & we are indians we eat all kinds of foods & we would definately like to try the local stuff (we don't eat beef)
as for Indians these prices are very High , Please tell us about moderate level restaurants ,also let me know restaurants around our hotel so we can reach them at our disposal

we again need a good ans from Alpine

In my country we don't use euros, we use Swiss Francs. The exchange rate is 1 EUR=1.58913 CHF. In my country a meal can cost from 20 francs to 100 francs, but on average the costs are at around 20-70 francs. In Z眉rich, I advise that you go the Restaurant Hiltl, a vegetarian restaurant, and one of the sort of "new" places to go (see: http://www.hiltl.ch/f_main_e/f-main.htm and http://www.suestyle.com/hiltl.html for a review.) for more info. There are other restaurants, but this has always been my favourite one.

20 euros, may be .......who knows yar....

go to old town for a hearty meal you know they use swiss francs there not eurosbut i think40 euros should do it with a beer

i like Zeughauskeller, off of the Bahnhofstrasse. they have a bratwurst sampler on a skewer, onion sauce, with potato salad for only 25CHF (for quite a lot of food, actually). drinks start at about 4-5CHF. in my experience, unless you go to some fancy place, most restaurants in Zurich offering local specialties usually run 20-40CHF per person. other popular dish to try is the Zurich style veal in mushroom sauce with rosti; i've only had that at Crazy Cow, and that was about 30CHF.

Expect to pay 30CHF for a main course, 8 CHF for a salad or dessert, 40CHF for a bottle of wine, 5 CHF for a bottle of water and 4 CHF for a coffee, and you won't be overwhelmed when you get the bill. So, 145 CHF for two, or roughly 90 Euros. You don't have to leave a tip, but the waitress won't complain if you do.

Most places will take Euros but it's worth checking first--some will have a price on the menu (probably best to pay in francs if they do, since the Euro has been doing better and better against the franc) others will give you an exchange rate (and probably give change in francs).

I like the Hiltl, but it's an odd choice for Zurich (It's mostly Indian, and vegetarian and smoke-free, neither of which come to mind as classicly Swiss). Zeughauskeller is more Zurich-ish, but very touristy and the service tends to be rude. Crazy Cow is pretty cool. There's a nice fondue place just down the steps from Grossmunster, although fondue is really from the mountains. If you were hoping to spend less, try Movenpick.

k

Gotta go with Zueghauskeller off of Paradeplatz...its just unbeatable...if you go for lunch and want cheap take teh daily menu otherwise teh Zurischnetzles is the best in town.
